Investing in electric vehicles
The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) is a key pillar of our sustainability roadmap. We're actively piloting and integrating electric vans into our fleet where operationally viable, with plans to expand adoption year on year.
EVs not only reduce direct emissions, but also contribute to quieter, cleaner communities — particularly in dense urban delivery areas where air quality and congestion are major concerns.
We're closely monitoring advances in EV range, payload capacity, and charging infrastructure to ensure our fleet remains both efficient and future-proof.
Supporting the UK’s EV charging network
The UK’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly, making sustainable delivery more accessible than ever. With over 60,000 public charging points now available across the country — and more than 100 new locations added weekly — we’re seeing growing viability for electric fleets at scale.
We strategically plan delivery routes to align with high-density charging zones and partner with facilities that support EV operations. As new ultra-rapid chargers and depot-based charging solutions roll out, we’re actively reviewing our site capabilities and upgrading where appropriate.
Smarter routes, lower impact

We leverage route optimisation and telematics technology to minimise mileage, avoid congestion, and reduce fuel usage. Smarter planning leads to shorter journeys, fewer emissions, and improved delivery efficiency — all without compromising service quality.
We also encourage fuel-efficient driving behaviour through real-time feedback and training, helping our drivers contribute to the bigger picture on every shift.
Circular thinking and waste reduction
Beyond transport, we look at sustainability through a broader operational lens. This includes:

- Recycling and reusing materials in our depots
- Procuring eco-friendly uniforms and supplies
- Streamlining maintenance practices to reduce waste and fluid disposal impact
